Maynard SwobodaMaynard Paul Swoboda, age 63 of Redwood Falls, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 20, 2018 due to cardiac arrest at Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls.  Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.  Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Redwood Animal Shelter.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Maynard Paul Swoboda was born October 27, 1955 to Joseph and Beatrice (Knisley) Swoboda in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  On May 9, 2009 he married his lifelong partner Barbara Kissner at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  Maynard was a musician and loved music.  He was a gifted craftsman that enjoyed woodworking and doing home improvements. Maynard loved making and fixing his own things.  He took pride in the little things and loved animals. Most of all Maynard loved spending time with his family.

Maynard is survived by his wife Barbara Kissner-Swoboda; children: Kim (Troy) Drees of Apple Valley, Jeff (Annie) Kissner of Victoria, Kari (Mike) Hess of Farmington, and Kami (Paul) Schneiderman of Danube; grandchildren: Brianna (Steve) Springer, Brittany (Jeff) Engebretson, Joseph Kissner, Jerrilyn (Ben) Dvorak, Jacob Koltveit, Sam & Braden O’Connell, Blake & Ethan Hess, and Ava & Will Schneiderman; great grandchildren: Paisley and Aria; brother Robert (Jan) Swoboda of Redwood Falls; Two-Shoes his Kitty; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Beatrice, brother Rodney Swoboda, sister & brother-in-law Alvin & Jean Wohnoutka, parents-in-law William & Myrtle Mehrhoff and his beloved Kitty Eddie.
