Maynard “Mike” Miller, age 93 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Lucan, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.  Interment is in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.   Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Maynard “Mike” Miller was born September 6, 1918 to William and Clara (Werner) Miller on the family farm in Westline Township near Lucan, Minnesota.  He attended school in the country near Lucan.  He was united in marriage to Florine Davis in the Seaforth Presbyterian Church on September 10, 1940.  They farmed in the Lucan area until October 2001, when they moved to Redwood Falls.  Mike was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour books, enjoyed Johnny Cash and country western music, playing music with family and friends, and was never seen without his cowboy boots and western hat.  All the grandsons loved visiting Grandpa and Grandma on the farm for the FUN that was always part of them.  Mike and Florine were long-time members of Trinity Lutheran Church and served in many capacities, always willing servants to support in any way.

Mike is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Tom) Christensen of Prescott, AZ, and Gloria (John) Anderson of Mankato, MN; 4 grandsons: Scott (April) Christensen of Anthem, AZ, Derek (Amy) Anderson of Cave Creek, AZ, Jesse (Dana) Anderson of Tempe, AZ, and Brendan (Jenna) Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; 3 great-grandsons: Jake and Justin Christensen and Caeden Anderson; one great-granddaughter Chloe Anderson; sisters-in-law Betty Sickmann of Locustgrove, VA, and Althea Miller of Sauk Rapids; and many special nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Florine, 6 brothers: Leonard, Wilbur, Leslie, Dallas, Norman, and Merlin, and one sister, Mildred Bernardy.

Though we deeply mourn his loss, Heaven has welcomed him home – may God be praised for his life and precious legacy of memories he’s left behind.
