Brent Thomas, age 51 of New Salem, ND formerly of Redwood Falls, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at his home due to a heart attack.  A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery at a later date.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Brent Harry Thomas was born September 14, 1971 to Harry and Julie (Young) Thomas in Whittier, California.  He was baptized in Whittier and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  In 1990, Brent graduated from Redwood Falls-Morton High School.  Brent was a longtime manager at the Pizza Hut in Redwood Falls.  He was united in marriage to Robin Stotzman and they had a son, Nathan.  Brent worked at Jackpot Junction and later worked in Clearwater, which led him to move to North Dakota in 2018. There he was working for West River Telephone as a fiber optic technician. Brent was a member and enjoyed playing in pool and dart leagues.  He loved golfing and going deer hunting with his dad.  He greatly treasured his talks with his friends.

Brent is survived by his son Nathan Thomas of Hector; grandson Colton Brent Thomas; mother Julie Thomas of Redwood Falls; nephew Tyler (Kjersten) Church of Moorhead; godmother Carole Young of New Ulm; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Harry in March 1993, sister Anissa Barnes in September 2014, grandparents Shorty & Rose Young, uncle Neil Young and aunt Mary Young.
