Carol Ann Lanz age 74 of Wabasso, formerly of Mankato, passed away August 29, 2022 at Centra Care-Redwood Falls Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A live stream can be viewed on the church’s FaceBook page. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Wabasso Area Food Shelf in lieu of flowers.
Carol Ann (Fischer) Lanz was born October 24, 1947 to Edward and Margaret (Lensing) Fischer in Redwood Falls. She was baptized November 2, 1947 and confirmed in 1959 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Carol attended St. Anne’s Catholic School, graduating in 1966. She lived in Mankato and Mapleton before moving back to Wabasso after retirement. Carol was involved with the Wabasso Area Food Shelf and a very active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed reading, gardening and sewing. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and going to their activities.
Carol is survived by her sons: Steven (Jenn) Lanz of Newport, Christopher (Bridget) Lanz of Madison Lake, and Louis (Carrie) Lanz of Janesville; grandchildren: Jordan (Raquel) of Isanti, Kyle (Ashley) of Cape Coral, Florida and Devon of Newport; great grandchildren: Laney, Levi, Logan, Livya, DelilahRae, and Trinity; brothers and sisters: Patricia Fischer, Joyce McFadden, Richard (Peggy) Fischer, Joan (Verl) Squire, Mike (Fran) Fischer, Kevin (Lorna) Fischer and Edward Fischer; sister-in-law Shirley Fischer; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Levi, great grandson Jax, sister Jean Guy, brother Robert Fischer; sister-in-law Mary Fischer; brother-in-law Roger McFadden; and niece Jessica Guy.
