Catherine “Cathy” Lynn Helgeson, age 65 of Morgan, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2024 at CentraCare Hospital in Redwood Falls. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Cathy Lynn Helgeson was born in Minneapolis on January 11, 1959 to Ruth Johnson. She did her schooling in Minneapolis. Cathy was her mom’s caretaker until her death in 1983. Cathy was employed at Hackers Tree Farm and as a garden helper for a nursery. From 1998 to 2021, she worked as a cashier at Walmart. She enjoyed playing card games and cornhole and putting puzzles together. Some of Cathy’s favorite places were the casino and at a campfire by the lake. She loved time spent with her family the most, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Cathy is survived by her children: Michelle (Jon Guggisberg) Lund and Mitchell Hunteman; grandchildren: Keygan, Kiera & Landen Lund; siblings: Diane Miles, and Mike, Steve & David Helgeson; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Ruth and step-dad Harold Helgeson.
