Dale H. Rykhus, age 90, of Tracy, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 surrounded by family at Prairie View Health Care Center in Tracy under hospice care. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. Visitation will be at 9:30 on Thursday at the church and continue until the service. Interment will be in Tracy City Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dale H. Rykhus was born January 18, 1933 to Albert and Pauline (Ziemke) Rykhus on the family farm in Holly Township, Murray County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tracy. He attended district #8 and graduated from district #13 schools. Dale farmed with his father until his marriage to Lorraine Iverson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook on November 12, 1955. After marriage, they joined Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. To this union five children were born – Sandy, Mary, John, Joan and David. Dale was active in his church serving as usher and trustee for many years. He was a leader in 4-H, on the Tracy Elevator Board, and a member of Tracy Lions for over 25 years.

Dale is survived by his wife of 68 years Lorraine; children: Sandy (Roger) Polkow, Mary (William) Baune, John (Jill), Joan (David) Bierman, and David (Janis); grandchildren: Dustin, Thomas, and Craig Polkow, Jason (Amy), Steven, and Christy Baune (Vernon Walker), Jenna (Tony) Correa, Jamie (Brandon) Weber, Chase (Anna) and Nathan Bierman, Michael and Nicholas Hinkey, and Stephanie (Matt) Benz; great grandchildren: Cadence, Jaden, Giselle, Josie, and Maverick Polkow, Joshua and Izzy Walker, Tessa and Lila Correa, Emery Weber, Corbyn Bierman, Simon, Samuel and Sadie Benz; great great grandson Sky Daniel; sister Lorraine Froehlich; sister-in-law Deallis Rykhus; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Robert, Darlene (Carl) Thiel, and Herbert Froehlich; grandson Jason Baune, parents-in-law Floyd and Hazel Iverson, siblings-in-law Eugene and Doris Iverson, and nephew Paul Thiel.
