Darrin Wade Goettig, age 49 of Tracy, passed away suddenly Friday, May 12, 2023.  Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Tracy Area Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held at a later date at Tracy City Cemetery.

Darrin Goettig was born August 31, 1973 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Darold and Rosella (Hoffman) Goettig.  He attended Tracy Area High School.  On June 17, 1999 he married Sara Platcek in Brookings, SD.  They were blessed with two sons, Austin and Coltyn.  They later divorced.  Darrin worked as a boiler operator, did maintenance work at Homera Homes, Marshall Truss, Schwan’s, and was currently working at Kraft Foods in New Ulm.  He was outstanding in his field and truly loved by his coworkers.  Outside of work, Darrin was passionate about grilling and smoking meats.  If it could go on the grates, it could be smoked or grilled.  His favorite pastimes were Wind Therapy on his ’89 V-Max motorcycle.  Darrin loved nothing more than spending time with his sons.  He will be dearly missed.

Darrin is survived by his sons: Austin (Taleah) and Coltyn both of Tracy; brothers: Jeff (Teresa) of Currie, Lonnie (Cindy) of Marshall; sister Kelly of Tracy; former wife Sara of Two Harbors; significant other Heidi Wolters and her children: Ashlynn, Loriah, Xander, and Landon of Lewisville; and many nieces & nephews and other loved ones.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Duane and Wayne Goettig.
