Nadine Marzolf, you have lost an amazing individual in your life. My sincerest condolences to you. I did not learn of David's passing until this week, with great sadness. Even though I was a student in Harmony, he left a lasting impression on me which continues today. In addition to a student, I was also blessed to have David as a coach. We were not the team he wanted, but he showed us great patience. My continued respect and loyalty are with him. A skilled and knowledgeable teacher, a motivator, a beautiful person. A true loss.

He was my math teacher in Harmony. He was my favorite teacher. Always liked being in his classroom.

Mr. Doering was an amazing teacher. In 7th grade Algebra, he appeared “tough”. All soon realized it was his care, maybe right away, maybe throughout the years - he was concise in his teaching methods, and set aside any extra individual time to ensure all subject matter was learned. The bucket of water was fresh every morning to wipe that nasty chalkboard to a very clean slate - symbolic of the fresh start of every day. Enjoy the peace of your fresh start, Mr. D.

I learned so much from Mr. Doering, he had such a way of making math understandable. His concise, perfect handwriting and clean formula structure on the chalkboard was unforgettable. The time I spent learning from him was a highlight during my high school days - he truly was one of my favorite teachers. My thoughts go out to Nadine, his family and friends.

David was a great colleague at Wabasso. He had a very dry sense of humor that was hilarious and would get the teacher's lounge laughing. He was probably the last teacher on the face of the earth to use a mimeograph machine. He was a great man and will be missed.
