Dennis Kasten, age 88 of Redwood Falls, passed away December 29, 2024 at his daughter’s home. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Belview Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dennis LeRoy Kasten was born on the farm near Belview in Echo Township to Hilbert and Luella (Fischer) Kasten on August 1, 1936. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church. Dennis received his elementary education at the Belview School and the country school in Echo, graduating from Echo High School in 1955. Dennis served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany for 1 year, 11 months and 11 days from 1958 to 1959. On December 2, 1961, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Janet Gullickson. Dennis was a member of the School Board and City Council in Delhi and was an usher at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. He enjoyed woodworking and crafted dressers for his grandchildren. Dennis travelled the US by car and by guided tours with his wife Lorraine.

Dennis is survived by his children: Jolene (Bob) Kissner, Gene Hansen, Karen (Joel) Baune and Gary (Darcy) Kasten; grandchildren: Keisha Jaros, Kindra (Ben) Lesnau, Jocelyn (Jeremy) Iverson, Jenna (Mathew) Pendleton, Tara (Jordan) Twinning, Dustan (Kelly) Kasten, Blaine (Tesla) Kasten, Lindsy (Eric) Wyler and Alysen (Brendon) Lyon; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings: Marilyn (Arnie) Tietz of Kasson and Irene (Steve Griffin) Abrahamson of Prior Lake; sister-in-law Donna Kasten and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorraine Kasten, brother Duane Kasten, sister Janet Anderson and grandson Jordan Baune.
