Edward “Ed” Anthony Daub, age 88 of Wabasso, passed away peacefully September 19, 2024 surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso with a livestream on the church’s YouTube page. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Edward “Ed” Anthony Daub was born in Vail Township to John and Catherine (Bernardy) Daub on July 27, 1936. He received the Sacraments of baptism and confirmation at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and his education at St. Anne’s Catholic School. On July 25, 1959, Ed married Carla Rae Nemitz. They were blessed with 5 daughters. Ed served in the National Guard and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. Ed was a kind, caring man who loved his God his family and his friends dearly. He was an active member of his church. Ed was a co-owner of the Wabasso Implement and enjoyed working on the equipment. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, and took many fishing trips to Canada with family and friends. You could often find Ed on his iPad or playing Sudoku. Ed never passed up a dish of ice cream or a sweet treat!
Ed is survived by his wife Carla of 65 years; 5 daughters: Nancy (Scott) Frederiksen of Van Tassell, WY, Jill (Tom) Mahlow of Wabasso, Carol (Mike) Bratsch of Spicer, Gina (Gregg) Mathiowetz of Marshall, and Kelly (Brad) Salfer of Wabasso; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Regina Daub. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Herbert, Donald, Joan Holmes, Rita Seifert-Holmes and Jack.
