Gene Pettis, age 82, of Redwood Falls, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation with family at his side. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. A private burial will take place at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery – Redwood Falls.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gene Pettis was born September 19, 1941 to William and Elvera (Minkel) Pettis. He married Sharon Curtis in November 1966 in Redwood Falls, where they made their home and raised their four children.

Gene is survived by his wife Sharon; children: Mike (Bonnie Vik) Pettis, Chad Pettis, Jon Pettis & Jean Pettis; grandchildren: Jacob (Jordan Hacker) Pettis, Joshua Pettis, AJ Pettis, Isabella Pettis, Cole Pettis, Chase Pettis, Tyson Pettis, Calvin Mannz, Nichele (Chase) Haase & Jarrett Mannz; one great-grandchild on the way; siblings: Jim Pettis, Curt (JoAnn) Pettis, Carol Pettis, David (Dianne) Pettis, & Bonnie Beran; siblings-in-law: Jim (Judy) Curtis, John (Diane) Curtis & Dwight Hollingsworth; and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell (Bernie) Pettis, brother-in-law Ken Beran & sister-in-law Alice Hollingsworth.
