Joann Loretta (Lorentz) Boit, age 84 of Tracy, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 at home under the care of Prairie Home Hospice and family. In accordance with Joann’s wishes, no public services will be held. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joann Loretta (Lorentz) Boit was born December 11, 1938 to John and Iola (Kelly) Lorentz in Moorhead, Minnesota where she grew up and attended school. On January 16, 1959, she married John Boit. They were blessed with 4 boys – Richard, Todd, Steve and Brian. They lived in Moorhead for a time while they built their home themselves on the lake in Lake Park, Minnesota. Joann and her husband worked hard all their lives. Joann had a lawn service business that their boys helped her with and Joann and the boys assisted John with his construction company. They traveled to Texas in the winter and eventually liked Arizona. After John’s death, Joann lived in Fort Mohave, Arizona for 15 years. She came back to Minnesota to be closer to family.

Joann leaves behind her sons: Todd (Christine) of Detroit Lakes, Brian (RoxAnn) of Tracy, and Steve; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Eldora Lorentz, Rose Goble and Diane Boit; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband John, son Richard, and siblings: Donna Markey, Lyle Lorentz, Doris Hamilton, Irving Lorentz, and Delilah Doeden.
