John H. Schnobrich, age 77 of Spicer formerly of Redwood Falls, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 surrounded by family at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after an extended battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer with livestream available at ourlivingwater.org/johnschnobrich.html. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 24 at the church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials preferred to The Link in New London and to the American Lung Association.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

John Howard Schnobrich was born February 4, 1947 to Howard and Helen (Case) Schnobrich in New Ulm, Minnesota. He graduated from New Ulm Public Schools in 1965 and attended University of Minnesota, where he received his degree in history and philosophy. John continued his education at the University of Minnesota Law School and graduated in 1973. On June 2, 1973, he married the love of his life Connie Haala at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. John then served in the United States Army Reserves Jag Core for six years. Connie and John lived in Minneapolis for three years; there he served as in house council for a real estate development company. The couple moved to Redwood Falls in 1976, where John was a founding member of the Estebo, Carey, Schnobrich & Frank law firm. He established a specialty in Real Estate Development. In addition to the law firm, he was in house council for a development firm that built assisted living facilities across the country. John also served 17 years as the city attorney for Redwood Falls. He retired in 2009 and moved to Spicer, where he enjoyed time with his family at the lake. John served on many committees in the city of Redwood Falls and at church. He was also a member of the Redwood Rotary and Hospital boards. John became an expert on Bonsai Trees, winning several awards at the Minnesota State Fair. He enjoyed downhill skiing trips to western states for many years and you could often find him on the golf course in the summer.

John is survived by his wife Connie of 51 years; children: Annie Schnobrich of Minneota, Steve (Virginia) of Austin, TX, and Jim (Mary) of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Ben (special friend Cecily), Sam, Brek, Mia, Caleb, Marnie, Ramona, and Wally; siblings: Todd Schnobrich of Washington and Mark (Betty) Schnobrich of Hutchinson; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law Gladys & Leo Haala.
