Joyce Elaine Weltsch, age 66 of Redwood Falls, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park surrounded by her family after an extended illness.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, December 13 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.  Interment will be held at a later date.  

Joyce Elaine Weltsch was born November 9, 1955 to Martin and Grace (Robinson) Erickson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  She was baptized at Springdale Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, SD and later Confirmed at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, MN.  Her family resided in Harrisburg until June 1960, when Joyce and her family moved to Redwood Falls.  Joyce graduated from Redwood Falls Schools in 1974.  After high school, Joyce met Richard Weltsch and on May 27, 1978 they were united in marriage at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.  Together the couple made their home in Redwood Falls.  Joyce devoted much of her time to their family business and supporting the local Ag community.  She was very active in the community, where she was a Girl Scout Leader and taught Sunday school.  Joyce was a member of the Redwood Falls Lions Club.  She enjoyed cooking, art club, going golfing and watching the Minnesota Vikings.  To pass the time she enjoyed quilting, cross stitching and going for rides in the corvette.  You would often find her spending time at the lake whether she was on the boat or soaking up the sun; she always loved the summers at Crosslake.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family and going to all of her grandchildren’s activities.

Joyce is survived by husband Richard of 43 years; children: Ryan Weltsch and Anna (Aaron) Thomes both of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Addison, Evan & Nora; siblings: Mary Jane (Jim) Hauschild, Dorothy Dudgeon both of Redwood Falls, and James (Christine) Erickson of Hudson, WI; nieces & nephews: Kari (Kreg) Nederbrock their children Abby & Emme, Dawn (Belinda) Dudgeon, Brian (Brenda) Erickson and their children Alexis, Brooke & Jacob, and Andy (Tarah) Erickson and their children Luna & Helix; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Marty & Dwight Erickson.
