Juanita O. Hanson, age 101 of Walnut Grove, formerly of Brooten, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Our House of Murray County. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Memorials to Our House of Murray County are preferred in lieu of flowers.  Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Juanita was born July 16, 1923 in Norway Lake Township to Edward & Randi Mary (Fosse) Pladson. She was baptized and confirmed at West Norway Lake Lutheran Church. Juanita attended Country School District 72 through the 8th grade, and graduated from Brooten High School in 1941. On June 3, 1944, Juanita was united in marriage to LeRoy Olson. They lived in Walnut Grove where they operated a hardware store. LeRoy died January 8, 1976. She later married Harlan Hanson on October 21, 1995. Juanita was very active in the community. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Aid and volunteered for the BBE and Walnut Grove Food Shelves. In 2010, she received the WCCO Good Neighbor Award. Juanita enjoyed traveling. She took four Caribbean Cruises, five trips to Europe, and many bus trips across the United States. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, riding her bike, and sewing. She was known for making lefse and donuts, and baking date and sugar cookies. Juanita loved spending time visiting with family and friends.

Juanita is survived by her children: Susan (Art) Prouty, Kathleen (Ray) Team, Thomas (Jacqueline) Olson, Jeffrey (Mary Jo) Olson, Cynthia (James) Petersen, Renae Booke, & Mark (Barbara) Olson; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands LeRoy Olson & Harlan Hanson, son-in-law Ben Booke, grandson Corey Olson, and great-grandson Asher Anderson.
