Lori (Loock) Rothmeier of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away on January 11, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, after losing her battle with Covid 19. A memorial open house gathering to honor the lives of Lori (Loock) and Mike Rothmeier will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18 at the Loock residence located at 106 N Whittet St, Redwood Falls. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lori was born on December 4, 1960 to Harlan and Karen (Davis) Loock, at the Redwood Falls Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Lori attended the Redwood Falls schools. Lori married Michael C. Rothmeier on September 20, 1980, at St. John’s Lutheran church in Redwood Falls. They were married over 40 years. Lori worked her whole life in the care of others. While living in the Redwood Falls area, she worked at the local nursing homes and as a home health aide. Lori and Mike enjoyed attending rendezvous events. She made many detailed items to wear and sell at the rendezvous. She was very skilled at sewing and beadwork. The couple resided in the Redwood Falls area for 21 years, before moving to Arkansas and making it their home. In Arkansas, Lori and Mike became involved in dog rescue. Lori was dedicated and passionate about rescuing, rehabilitating and fostering dogs. They adopted many rescued dogs over the years, who were unable to find homes. Lori also worked at a local school in Arkansas. She loved the children there and they loved and respected her. She also loved technology, computers and shopping. Lori was loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, her canine “kids”, family and friends.
Lori is survived by her husband, Mike, her canine “kids” Tootsie, Lily and Otis, mother Karen Loock, siblings Deanne Loock and Dan (April) Loock, sisters-in-law Jeannie (Walter) Rainwater of Fort Collins, CO and Cheryl (Tom) Garner of Sullivan, MO, nieces and nephews Cassie (Loock) Djonne (children Coltyn, Rylee, Hudson and Emma), Bradley Loock, Robyn Chmiel, Aaron Kerkhoff, Nicole Joy, Kara Fairweather, Amanda Romero, Jeremy Garner and Josh Garner. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Harlan Loock, father-in-law Roman Rothmeier and sister-in-law Pat Scott. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
