Melvin L. Klein, age 96 of Tracy, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024 at Tracy Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Tracy City Cemetery.   Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Melvin L. Klein was born March 26, 1928 to David and Florence (Briard) Klein on a farm north of Tracy in Monroe Township. He attended District 35 country school and then went to work on the farm. Melvin joined the Army in 1946, serving in the Medics Division. After his discharge, Melvin began farming with his brother Elmer. On October 16, 1947, Melvin married the love of his life Betty Magnell. They raised two children. Mel and Betty and were blessed with 71 years together. They retired to a home on Marion Lake near Perham where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and numerous outdoor projects. In 2004, they returned to the Tracy area and built a home near his birthplace.

Melvin is survived by his children: Mel Klein and Bonnie Ludeman; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends; as well as special caregivers Lori and Marlene. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, and numerous other relatives and friends.
