Marlus “Molly” Schefus, age 82 of Redwood Falls, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be held at a later date.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marlus “Molly” (Larsen) Schefus was born August 1, 1941 to Carl and Eva (Wickwire) Larsen in Milroy, Minnesota. She grew up in North Redwood on Coon Street. Molly attended grade school in North Redwood and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1959. On May 12, 1962, Molly married Lynn Schefus and to this union three children were born. Molly had many jobs: Sunwood Nursing Home as a nurse aid, Control Data, Artesyn, Wood Dale Nursing Home in the kitchen, Jackpot, REM and worked for a couple of years at Walmart. She enjoyed meeting friends at Country Kitchen and was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. She celebrated 42 years of sobriety.  You could often find her sitting outside with friends and family. Molly loved to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events and walks with her dog, Tootie.

Marlus is survived by her children: Sheila (Vern) Stage, Shelly (Scott) Baune and Jeff Schefus all of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Tyler (significant other Brittany Falk) Stage, Stephanie (fiancé Nick Haupt) Stage, Kalley Stage all of Redwood Falls, Nikki (Dave) Chicos of New Richland, Derek Baune, and Brennan (fiancée Haley Vik) Baune both of Sioux Falls, SD; great grandchildren: Waylon Stage, Grayson Clancy, Owen Chicos, Landon Chicos, and one on the way; siblings: Letha Becker of North Redwood & Allan Larsen of Albert Lea; sister-in-law and good friend Susan Larsen of Redwood Falls; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Eva Larsen, and siblings Jerry Larsen, Sharon Timgren, Ron Larsen & Linda Evans.
