Randy Wayne Clausen, age 60 of Redwood Falls passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 24 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with a livestream available on the church’s YouTube page. Viewing hours will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday AT THE CHURCH. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment is in the Belview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Randy Wayne Clausen was born February 9, 1965 in Minneapolis, MN to Ronald and Marjorie (Anderson) Clausen. He was baptized at Rock Dell Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview. He attended Belview Public School and graduated with the class of 1983. While in high school, Randy was awarded the John Philip Sousa music award. Following graduation, Randy attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis for a career in broadcasting. He first worked in Beulah, ND for a short time before moving to Montevideo. While in Montevideo, he worked at KDMA, Innovex, and Jennie-O in Willmar. Randy then moved to Redwood Falls to fulfill his dream of working in his home community. On August 11, 2001, Randy married the love his life, Kathryn Jo Paradis, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. For over 25 years, Randy was the familiar voice at KLGR where he hosted Coach’s Corner, high school sports coverage & play by play. Randy was also the voice of the Redwood Speedway for many years. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and an Elder. Randy was an avid fisherman – traveling to the Governor’s Fishing Opener every year, and enjoying ice fishing trips with the boys. As a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, Randy bled purple and gold! He enjoyed playing bean bags, checkers or any game where he could let his competitive side shine. Most of all, Randy loved his family, his KLGR family, and his listeners.
Randy is survived by his sisters: Shelly Clausen of North Mankato, Kimberly (Jason) Knacke of Darwin and Amy (Josh) McCabe of North Mankato; siblings-in-law: Bonnie (Barry) Humphrey, Ann Paradis, Linda (Randy) Olson, Nancy (Glenn) Ahlers & William “Bill” (Danielle) Paradis; many nieces & nephews, and uncle Elmo (Florencia) Clausen. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy & brother Barry.
