Reid David Oleson, age 73 of Storden, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family of Reid Oleson on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the Storden Community Center. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Reid David Oleson was born in Windom, Minnesota on September 6, 1950.  He was the son of Donald and Reva (Parker) Oleson.  As an infant, he was baptized, and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden. He attended the public school in Storden and graduated from Storden High School in 1968.  After graduation, he worked for Shepman and Wright Tree Service and then at Toro in Windom until he retired.  He lived his whole life in Storden, growing up on the family farm just south of town and then later moving to town.

Throughout the years, Reid had many interests. He enjoyed fishing with his girls when they were young. He also enjoyed deer hunting, camping, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved telling stories. Reid also loved Native American history and artifacts.  He received a pipe and drum that was made for him by a friend. He also visited a Native American sweat lodge and attended several Pow Wows.

Reid is survived by his daughters Stacey (Mike) Groen of Little Rock, Iowa; Shannon Oleson of Fairmont, Minnesota; and Heidi (Jeremy) Anderson of Baltic, South Dakota; his mother, Reva Berntson of Storden, Minnesota; sisters Victoria Oleson-Zarn (Gary) of Lakeville, Minnesota; Karen (Russ) Fay of Storden, Minnesota; five grandchildren, one nephew, one niece, and one great-nephew; and many other relatives and friends.

Reid is preceded in death by his father, Donald Oleson; his sister, Sandra Oleson; and his stepfather, Arnold Berntson.
