Ronald Stadick, age 86 of Walnut Grove, passed away in Evie’s loving arms Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Private family services will be held. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Walnut Grove. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing guidelines. A 50% indoor occupancy restriction will be maintained. Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ronald Stadick was born March 27, 1934 to Werner and Catherine (Boever) Stadick in Wabasso, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Ron attended St. Anne’s Catholic School. On August 17, 1957, he married Evie DeSmith at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. To this union one son, Bob, was born. Together the couple farmed near Walnut Grove. Ron later worked for Dudgeon Tiling and Fran’s Welding in Marshall. He also worked at Dakota Ridge Golf Course, where he did maintenance work before his retirement. Ron was a member of the Walnut Grove Lions Club and a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. He enjoyed bird watching and deer hunting. Ron & Evie loved traveling, often with their son, Bob. Some of their favorite destinations were Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and wintering in Texas for over 20 years.
Ronald is survived by his wife Evie of 63 years; sister-in-law Dorothy DeSmith of Walnut Grove; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Bob, and brother-in-law Edward DeSmith.
