Rest easy, Mom. We know you’re at peace; no more pain. We know you’re up there dancing with Dad across the stars. Love you to the stars and beyond.

Shirley Darlene (Wussow) Wurscher, age 93, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Renville Health Services in Renville. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born August 6, 1931 to August and Alma (Schaffenberg) Wussow in Mankato, MN. On August 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Edwin (Ed) Wurscher. Shirley loved to read. She spent many hours talking with her friend Ruth discussing the books they read. She had many bird feeders right outside her window and she spent many hours watching the birds and the squirrels. Her favorite pastime was watching the daycare kids next door playing outside. She enjoyed their visits to her window and when they came to visit her in her room.

Shirley leaves behind her 3 children: Betty (Joey) Lecy of Belview, Tom of Milroy & Dave (Ev) of Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren: Nick (Morgan) Lecy, Samantha (Brandon) Sullivan, Brock (Jessie) Wurscher, Heather Wurscher, Jessica (Josh) Gronli & Mitchell Sandersfeld; 11 great-grandchildren: Luke, James & Ethan Lecy, Jax & Braxton Wurscher, Jaelyn, John & Jocelyn Gronli, and Trevor, Tyler & Thomas Sandersfeld. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed, daughter-in-law Vicki Wurscher, sisters Sally & Fritzie and brother Bud.
