Sue Ann (Robson) Tiffany was born January 28, 1932 to Ray and Virginia (Lipp) Robson in St. Louis, Missouri. The family lived in Rock Hill and Kirkwood, Missouri during Sue’s younger years. Sue attended Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa, majoring in Math, Physics and Psychology. While there, she met John Milne Tiffany in the Singer’s Choir and they were married on December 22, 1952 in St. Louis. John was a pilot in the Air Force until 1955 and he and Sue lived in Georgia, Florida, California and New Mexico during his service. John and Sue made many life-long friends during this time. In 1955, the couple moved to Redwood Falls, eventually settling on the home farm. Sue enjoyed helping others and giving back. She served as a Girl Scout leader and council treasurer for many years. She was involved in the local leadership of the American Field Service (AFS) program, and her family hosted foreign exchange students from Thailand and Mexico. One of Sue’s great joys was spending time at the Redwood Falls High School. She was a substitute teacher and tutored students in math until she was 87 years old. Sue took pride in knitting stocking hats for all the wrestlers. Being a lover of music, Sue and John attended every band and choir concert they could. Spending time with young people and supporting them in their activities energized her. In 1999, Sue was honored to be inducted to the Redwood Area School’s Hall of Fame. Sue was an involved member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving on numerous committees, acting as the church librarian and singing in the choir for over 60 years. She played a large role in the construction of the church addition.

She is survived by her children: Jean (Roger) Cox, Bruce (Ann) Tiffany, Lee (Craig) Stearns, Paul (Gina) Tiffany, daughter-in-law, Becky Tiffany; and sister Donna (Bob) Hansen. Sue will be remembered by her 15 grandchildren: Matthew (Kimary) Tiffany, Austin (Maryellen) Tiffany, Alex Tiffany, John (Brianna) Stearns, Brian (Amy) Stearns, Eric (Jenna) Stearns, Jared (Abby) Stearns, Nathan Tiffany, Christina (Jacob) Thompson, Josiah Tiffany, Grace Tiffany, Rachel (Chip) Kitley, Elizabeth Tiffany (Lucky Aldana), Michael (Shauna) Tiffany, and Joshua (Tabitha) Tiffany; and 28 great-grandchildren, Willa and Cora Tiffany, Nolan, Eliza and Audrey Tiffany, Brynn, Kale, Greer, Sloane, Ellis, Lennon and Boden Stearns, Avery, Ethan, Maeva, and Addyson Stearns, Avonelle, Everett, and Oliver Stearns, Micah and Ava Stearns, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Elijah and Moriah Kitley, and Madelyn, Daisy and Nora Tiffany. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, son Wayne, sister Nancy Gibbs, and great-granddaughter Kendra Faith Stearns.
