Walter Wayne Falk, age 85, of Windom, passed away Sunday December 8, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society in Windom. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Windom United Methodist Church with a livestream on the Windom Methodist Church Facebook page. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Delafield Cemetery at a later date. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Walter Wayne Falk was born to Jacob and Dorothy (Hulzebos) Falk on October 31, 1939 in Mountain Lake. He graduated from the Mountain Lake public schools. On June 24, 1961, Walter married Janice C. Renczykowski. In those 63 years of marriage, they had 3 children: Douglas, Debra and Darren. Walter worked for the Toro Company in Windom for 43 ½ years. He was so concerned about providing for his family that he worked odd jobs at Olson’s Dry Cleaners, Peterson Feed Mill and farmed for a friend. Walter loved the Lord and his family. Dad had a green thumb and an immaculate garden and lawn. He enjoyed telling jokes, fishing, hunting, refurbishing toy tractors, sport games, going to the Community Center and visiting family. He was a kid at heart and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a special bond with his great-grandson Jack and they had many adventures together. Dad’s humor came through when initiating new family members by playing the secret family game of Bulla-Bulla. In 1985, Dad fell off the roof at their lake house and it took 10 years before he was diagnosed with seizures and dementia. November 13th, Dad was in the care of the angels that worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Windom. Two weeks later he went into Hospice Care until the Lord called his name on the morning of December 8.

Walter is survived by his wife Janice C. Falk; children: Douglas (Trudie) Falk, Debra (Mark) Stevens and Darren (Lisa) Falk; many grand and great-grandchildren; brother Norman James (Vikki) Falk; sister Donna Jean Harder (significant other Peter Hustaded); and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Dorothy Falk, brother-in-law Edward Harder and step-father Rudy Junker.
