Terrence Lee Stage, age 62 of Redwood Falls, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Sanborn Cemetery Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Terrence Lee Stage was born January 29, 1956 to Merlin and Orien (Amberg) Stage in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Terry attended Delhi grade school until 6th grade and graduated from Belview public school in 1974. He continued his education at vocational school in Redwood Falls where he studied small engines. Terry served 6 years in the National Guard. He owned his own small engines shop and worked for Dekalb, Kibble, Curry Sanitation, S&S Concrete, Northwest Drywall and most recently the Sugar Beet Plant. He also worked part time at the recycling center and retired as department manager at Runnings. Terry was married and divorced twice before he met Cindy Beermann. They were united in marriage on February 25, 2006 in Las Vegas and reaffirmed their vows on October 2, 2018 by Pastor Bryant Kaden in Redwood Falls. Terry was a member of the Redwood Fire Department for 17 years and an active member at the American Legion. He enjoyed fixing anything from snow blowers, weed trimmers and chainsaws. Terry loved to bowl, hunt and fish.
Terrence is survived by his wife Cindy of 12 years; two daughters with first wife: Jennifer (Jesse) Keehl and Jamie (Nate) Peterson both of Redwood Falls; two daughters with second wife: Katie (Josh) Mages of Watertown, SD and Lindsey Stage (fiancé Nick Leach) of Bird Island; step-children: Melissa Prechel and Jordan (Heather) Cady both of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Brady (fiancé Ashley Warner), Aubree & Ethen Keehl, Carter, Andrew & Owen Peterson, Maverick Mages, Fletcher & Berklee Leach, Payton & Lexy Nelson and Aiden & Kora Cady; siblings: Brenda (Rick) Johnson and Vern (Sheila) Stage both of Redwood Falls; and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, uncle Tom Amberg, and aunt Margaret Psihos.
I am very sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. I babysat him when his parents lived just outside of Delhi. He was friends with my bother, Charlie Chmelar. His suffering done. My gentleman has lost 2 sisters and two bothers to this terrible disease and has melanoma himself.Cindy and family I will be glad to listen if you need to.
