Charles Williams
Charles E. “Chuck” Williams, age 88, of Tracy passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Slayton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Interment is in Tracy City Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Charles Edward Williams was born February 4, 1924 in Lisbon, ND to Ernest and Grace Williams. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Chuck graduated from Lisbon High School in 1942. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 and served as Gunners Mate LST in the South Pacific during WWII. Chuck was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to St. Paul. He graduated from the University of Minnesota for Agriculture in 1950, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry. On June 21, 1947 Chuck was united in marriage to Edna Mickelson in Lisbon. They had five children. Chuck worked as a cattle buyer. He bought and operated the East Side Convenience Store in 1970 and later purchased the West Side Store. Edna passed away in 1979. Chuck married Nancy Naumann on October 22, 1983, and the couple continued living in Tracy. Chuck was a member of the Eagles Club, where he was a charter member, the Tracy American Legion and VFW, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing in his younger years, as well as going dancing. Chuck loved reading, watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and talking with and socializing with people.
Chuck is survived by his wife Nancy; children: Steven Williams of Chicago, IL, Cheri Camp of Belfast, ME, Brett (Ranell) Williams of Park Rapids, Jane (Randy) Swanson of Cannon Falls, and Jody Williams of Los Angeles, CA; stepchildren: Tammara Schons of Tracy and Pamela (Kendal) Cooreman of Tracy; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Edna, brothers Russell and Hubert, and sisters Lucille and Bessann.

Dear family of Chuck,
We spent many times at the West Side, and I still have some “tickets” – for a beer, if I recall, from playing dice or some such thing.
Great memories of a great guy.
