Marguerite Zeug
Marguerite Zeug, age 95, of Redwood Falls passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Wood Dale Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Interment is in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Marguerite Zeug was born April 12, 1916 in Vermillion County, Indiana, to Earl and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Parmeter. Her family came to Minnesota when she was a small girl. They lived outside of Morton until her mother’s death when Marguerite was 5. At that time, Earl moved back to Indiana and Marguerite was raised by Levina Brown and Gertrude Hoover, sisters of Mary Elizabeth, on a farm north of Redwood Falls. She attended Redwood Falls elementary and high school. On June 6, 1939 Marguerite was united in marriage to Lawrence Zeug. They lived on a farm southeast of Redwood Falls and raised their family there until Lawrence’s death in 1976. Marguerite worked at Sunwood, Wood Dale, and at the Redwood County Hospital as a certified nurse’s aide. Marguerite was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and was active as a catechist, and with the Altar Society and CCW. Her other interests included gardening, crocheting, and quilting. Marguerite enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, and square dancing. She traveled on senior citizens trips from Washington DC to Vancouver, Canada. Marguerite loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marguerite is survived by her three children: Bernard (Theresa) Zeug of Redwood Falls, Roger (Teri) Zeug of Savage, and Marlene (Rick) Baune of Bloomington; eight grandchildren: Paul (Brenda) Zeug of Morgan, Annette Peters of Mountain Lake, Susann (Joel) Hoese of Watertown, Patrick Zeug of Mayer, Michele Zeug of Savage, Jennifer (Robert) Beeson of Austin, TX, Christopher (Christina) Baune of Maple Grove, and Jeremy (Ashlee) Baune of Lexington, NC; and 20 great grandchildren: Jackie and Doug DeFrance, Lance, Lauren and Matthew Zeug, Jonathan and Jessica Zeug, James Thorne Jr., Brittany and Alexandra Thorne, Benjamin, AJ and Libby Hoese, Alyssa Baune, Ashley Pfromer, Mason, Easton and Niklas Baune, and Aubrey and Lily Beeson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, and sister Louisa Parmeter. Blessed be her memory. |
