Carol Beens Carol Jean Beens age 73 of Tracy passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 24 at the Tracy Area Funeral Home.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Burial will be in Gales Township Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carol Jean (Flesner) Beens was born July 13, 1943 in Tracy, Minnesota to Elmer and Emma (Kronback) Flesner.  She graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1961.  On February 4, 1967 she married Carroll Beens.  Together the couple lived in Minneapolis for a short time before moving to Tracy where they made their home and raised their family.  Carol enjoyed arts and crafts and worked as Activities Director at the Tracy Nursing Home for several years.  She was well known for the crafts she made and sold all over the area.  Carol loved Bible studies and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her children: Jeff (Ellen) of Hallandale, FL, Chad (Susan) of Marshall, and Christina (Derek) Rasmussen of Tracy; 6 grandchildren: Jordana (Andy) Schreiner of Mankato, Michaela (Austin) Thooft of Marshall, Taylor Beens of Mitchell, SD, Emma Beens of Marshall, Brandon and Walker Rasmussen of Tracy; great granddaughter Brynlee Schreiner; sisters Shirley Heinrich of Walnut Grove and Mary DeBlieck of Tracy; special sister-in-law Karen Flesner of Fairmont; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carroll, brothers Wes and Tom Flesner, and sister Maggie Flesner.

  2. Shirley, Mary and remainder of family I share your loss and extend a warm cousin love to embrace you and your sorrow at the loss of dear Carol. My memories are faint but precious of that sweet smile while we grew up. Though I am ten yours older she and all my cousins were and are always near in spirit provided by our Savior Jesus. God bless all of you at this sobering time.
