Katie Sue Donaldson Katie Sue Donaldson age 18 of Westbrook passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 30, 2015.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5 at Storden Baptist Church, 4011 United States Avenue, Storden.  Visitation is 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday AT THE CHURCH and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday.  Burial is in Storden Baptist Church Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Katie Sue Donaldson was born October 29, 1996 in Aurora, Colorado to Kathi (Smith) Quiring and Mark Donaldson.  Katie was the joy of their lives.  She attended Otero Elementary and Fox Meadow Middle School in Colorado Springs.  Katie moved to Westbrook in 2010 and was currently a senior at Red Rock Central.  She was recently accepted to Minnesota West College in Jackson to pursue a cosmetology degree.  Katie was adventurous and had a big imagination.  She lived life to the phrase “Live, Laugh, Love”.  Katie always had a servant’s heart in that she always accepted people just as they were and never gave up on what they could become.

Katie is survived by her mother Kathi (Todd) Quiring of Westbrook; father Mark Donaldson of Denver, CO; grandparents Dallas and Mary Smith of Mesa, AZ and Louise Quiring of Windom; half-brother Marcus Stainbrook of Fargo, ND; step-brother Mitch (Misti) Quiring of Stillwater, OK; step-sister Hannah (Joseph) Fleenor of Slayton; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her grandfather Donald Quiring, and great-grandparents Earl and Susie Kelly and Leroy and Doris Smith.

    With regrets we wish were close to be with you at this time. So very sorry for the loss of Katie. Your mother, Mary Sue has kept us informed of Katie’s desires to go on to college with great expectations. Our Lord and Savior has His choice of ‘Angels’

    I didn’t know Katie, but grew up and graduated with your grandpa Dallas and grandma Mary.
    I love them so much and I know you all are hurting. Keep the Lord your God with
    you. He will give you strength. We never know why and we do ask why but we
    know God has his reasons. Just can’t imagine the hurt and loss you feel.

    She has and always will be in my heart
    I remember all the fun, laughter, games we played, I also remember how she loved you so much wanting to surprise you with silly little things, to make you laugh,
    I remember how much she loved Mystie my dog and would stay overnight to be with her,
    The only good thing out of this tragedy Is now they are probably walking in the park looking down at you saying REMEMBER? Mama!
    Yes I remember how she called you Mama!
    Most of all I remember how you both were always there for Me!
    I watched her grow into a beautiful beautiful young lady,
    Stay strong,I know how hard it is, and will be, I also know there are no words that can ever ever

    I am still in shock . Katie was a very awesome to work with at St. John’s care. Center. Always had a smile on her face and so willing to visit with the residents and staff. I always lived working with her. My heart goes out to you and will be thinking of you and your loss.

    Losing a Daughter,Who was/ is like your own, but you have to be strong for the love of your life now,
    please help her remember all the joy that Katidid has given both you,and all who love her so dearly,

    Tears are not a sign of weakness, but proof that you are human and that you care. You both have a long road ahead,the hardest is yet to come.just be there for each other,for now and always.

  10. So sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Katie to long but she was always the most high spirited person. She could always lift me up when I was feeling down and I felt very blessed to have known her even for a short time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Katie, you will never be forgotten and will always rain in the hearts of those who were blessed to have you in their life. R.I.P Beautiful Spirit.

  12. It is so gard to believe that she is gone. Me abd katie did not talk all to much after she moved from Colorado but I still remember all tge good times we had together, especially times on summer days spent in the pool. She made me smile and laugh so much. She had very high hopes and high dreams. I am very sorry she is gone. She will be missed deeply by so many people.
