Lippert2Thelma Viola Lippert age 95 of Belview passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Parkview Home in Belview.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Rock Dell Lutheran Church north of Belview.

Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Interment is in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Thelma was born May 30, 1917 on the Anderson family farm in Sioux Agency Township, Minnesota to John and Alma (Pedersen) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Rock Valle Lutheran Church north of Echo. Thelma attended country school north of Belview through the 8th grade. On July 31, 1938 she was united in marriage to Ernest Sampson at Rock Valle Lutheran Church. Together the couple lived on Halvor and Olga Sampson’s farm by Rock Dell Lutheran Church. They later purchased the Nelson farm in Swedes Forest Township 7 miles northeast of Belview where they farmed until 1967. Ernest passed away July 20, 1972. Thelma continued living on the farm for 6 years, marrying Elroy Lippert on May 19, 1978 in Belview. They made their home on the Lippert family farm near Blomkest for 9 years until Elroy’s death. Thelma then purchased a home in Belview and lived there until the age of 92. Health issues moved her into Parkview Home where she resided until her death. Thelma loved being a very hard working farm wife, helping with the chores, raising chickens, and selling eggs. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and old time dancing. Thelma was a member of Rock Dell Ladies Aid.

Thelma is survived by her children: David (Rhonda) Sampson of Willmar, Kathy (Robert) Sander of Redwood Falls, and John (Dawn) Sampson of Brooklyn Park; 10 grandchildren: Denise (Todd) Johnson, Steven (Kristine) Dirnberger, Julie (Jeff) Sears, Melissa (Trevor) Hansen, Kassandra Hornick, Kari Brogger, Michael Sander (fiancée Kristen Jensen) Amy (Taylor) Anderson, Heather Sampson, and Mariya Sampson; 13 great grandchildren; son-in-law James Dirnberger of Brooklyn Center; sister Lola Holien of Belview; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, daughter Sharon Dirnberger, 13 brothers and sisters, and great grandson Michael Johnson.
