Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Hildebrandt

Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Hildebrandt, age 32 of Redwood Falls passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Redwood Valley Funeral home, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.  Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jeffrey Hildebrandt was born August 7, 1977 in Redwood Falls to Doug and Paulette (Thompson) Hildebrandt.  He was baptized and confirmed at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.  Jeff graduated from Redwood Valley High School in 1996 and attended Ridgewater College receiving a degree in law enforcement.  He was united in marriage to Lisa Schmidt on August 21, 2004 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.  The couple made their home in Redwood Falls.  Their son Jacob was born in November, 2005.  Jeff worked in law enforcement in Pipestone County, Mountain Lake, Morgan and Springfield.  He also worked at the Redwood County Recycling Center, TC&W Railroad and was currently 2nd Assistant Manager at Casey’s General Store.  Jeff was a member of the Redwood Falls Fire Department for 7 years and served in the office of secretary.  Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and summers at Green Lake.  He looked forward to May fishing trips to Canada with his dad, grandpa and uncles.  Jeff also enjoyed riding motorcycle, going to Twins games, and driving the river bottom.  He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his wife Lisa and son Jacob.

Jeff is survived by his wife (of almost 6 years) Lisa; son Jacob; parents Doug and Paulette Hildebrandt of Redwood Falls; sisters: Stephanie and Kristin (fiancé Jeremy Bakeberg) all of Sioux Falls; grandparents: Rodney and Mary Lou Hildebrandt of Redwood Falls; great-grandfather Art Hildebrandt of Arlington, MN; mother and father-in-law Chuck and Nancy Schmidt of Redwood Falls; and many others relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents Morgan and Marilyn Thompson and cousin Samantha Price.
