Dale graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1957 and continued his education at SDSU on a football Scholarship for 1 year. He served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Berlin for 2 years. Dale was united in marriage to Helen Warren on June 13, 1965 at the Tracy United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion for many years. Dale was very athletic and played football, basketball, track and baseball. He enjoyed gardening, part-time farming, walking his dog Maggie, watching the Vikings on television, and watching his children play high school sports. Dale especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Dale is survived by his wife of 54 years Helen Anderson; children Mark (Courtney) Anderson of Winona and Mary (Mike) Hewitt of Walnut Grove; grandchildren Annika and Ethan Anderson; sisters Judy (Mike) Anderson, Joanne (Ned) Doan and Jeanette (Bob) Heggerston; brother Jerry (Sheryl) Anderson; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ronnie and Allan Anderson.
My deepest sympathies to you Helen and Mark and Mary. And my prayers for comfort and peace for all of you. Some of my favorite childhood memories are going to visit uncle Dale and aunt Helen. I will be thinking of you during this difficult time, and I will send a memorial to the Walnut Grove ambulance.
Please accept our sincere message of sympathy to your entire family. May the wonderful memories that you have of your loved one, help to ease the pain in the days and weeks to follow. In love and friendship,
The Don Enstad Family
Deepest condolences to you, Mark, Courtney and children. My heart goes out to you; your dad sounds like a wonderful man. May God comfort your hearts.
Sending my deepest sympathy Helen, to you and your family.
My sympathy to the family.
Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting the entire family, I can reflect on the
High School days with Dale.
Dale was a true competitor, athlete and a credit to Walnut Grove Minnesota.
Rest In Peace.
Dear Helen and family, So sadden and surprised to read about Dale’s passing in the Sentinel Tribune today! Dale and I go back many years from when we sold Virgil cars. Always enjoyed talking with Dale and he was a man you could trust as his word was good as gold. It’s been a year or so since we last talked, I’m thinking in the dentist office at Walnut Grove. But we are truly sorry for your great loss! Sincerely, Jim and Peggy Klasse
My sympathies to Helen, Mark, and Mary and their families- times like these are very hard. Hold on to the good memories-
