Delbert LuVerne Comnick, age 84 of the Walnut Grove area passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21 at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove with Pastor Tim Holt officiating. Casketbearers are John Comnick, Dennis Comnick, Bruce Comnick, Robin Comnick Starken, Linda Hass Warner and Randy Larson.

Visitation is 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Interment is in Pleasant View Cemetery in Dovray. Delbert LuVerne Comnick was born December 23, 1928 in Slayton, MN to John and Ida (Hochbum) Comnick. He was reared in Westbrook where he was baptized and confirmed at English Lutheran First Trinity Church. Since moving to Walnut Grove, Delbert has been a member of the English Lutheran Church. Delbert was a long time farm hand and pursued his hobbies of fishing and hunting.

Delbert is survived by nephews: John (Detta) Comnick of Upland, CA, Dennis (Clair) Comnick of Sun Lake, AZ, and Bruce (Jolleen) Comnick of Farmington, MO; nieces Twyla (Gordon) Barber of Vesta and Robin (Thomas) Starken of Preston MD; 9 great nieces and nephews; 4 great great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ida and John Comnick, brother Harold Comnick, and sister-in-law Lavonne Schnormeier Comnick.
