Geneva Ellingson Geneva Ruth Ellingson age 87 of Belview passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Parkview Home in Belview surrounded by her family.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 12 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview.  Visitation is 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Friday.  Burial will be at a later date in Vesta Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.

Geneva Ruth (Werner) Ellingson was born July 10, 1929 in Echo Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Otto and Ida (Meier) Werner.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta.  Her sister, Mable, took care of the family since her mother died when Geneva was very young.  She attended school in Vesta through the 8th grade and high school in Redwood Falls graduating in 1947.  On September 3, 1948 Geneva married Stanley Ellingson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  The couple settled near Delhi.  The family moved to Hampton and Delano before returning to the Belview area in 1965.  Geneva worked at Parkview Home as an aide until she retired.  She was an active member of Ladies Aid at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview.  Geneva enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, gardening, cooking, playing cards, and watching baseball and basketball.

Geneva is survived by four sons and two daughters: Gary (Pat) Ellingson of Maple Grove, Gloria Ellingson of Redwood Falls, Craig (Stephanie) Ellingson of Buffalo, Tim (Vicki) Ellingson of Belview, Nancy (Bob) McCain of Isanti, and Tom (Karin) Ellingson of Champlin; 13 grandchildren: Cory (Sarah) and Christopher (Angie) Ellingson; Jason, Jeremy, Justin, and Jesse (significant other Shayna) Teick; Shaun (significant other Amanda), Jacob (Amy), and Elizabeth Ellingson; Lukas (Toni) and Matthew McCain; and Gracie and Will Ellingson; 9 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Bob Perkins of Eden Prairie; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley, parents Otto and Ida, step mother Vesta, sister Mable Mandelkow, brothers-in-law Walt Mandelkow and Charles Ellingson, sister-in-law Beata Perkins, and an infant granddaughter.
