Ann Margaret Grefe was born March 30, 1965 in Tracy, MN to Ray and Joan (Grams) Grefe. She was baptized and confirmed at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. Ann graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1983. In the summers she enjoyed helping her father with veterinary work. After graduation she attended St. Olaf College in Northfield and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and graduated with an education major. She taught in several different school districts, most recently doing substitute teaching for the Rosemount School District. Ann’s most constant companion for 14 years was her dog Frankie. Her love of music came from her mom who was a church organist for many years. She liked to sing in the church choir and play her flute for special church services, as well as play piano at home for her own enjoyment. Ann was very happy being “Auntie Annie” to Bill, Katie and Peter, and remembered them with special gifts on holidays and their birthdays.
Ann is survived by her father Ray Grefe; brothers Tim and Scott; sisters-in-law Marilyn and Lorie; nephews and niece Bill, Katie, and Peter; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Joan in 1993, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
She’s in your arms now Joni…
