Clarence Walter Hass age 87 of Westbrook passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at his home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook.

Visitation is 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Westbrook Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.  Interment is in Westbrook Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Clarence Walter Hass was born August 17, 1925 in Rosehill Township, MN to Walter and Hannah (Flor) Hass.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  Clarence attended Country School District 34 through 8th grade and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1943.  On January 16, 1955 he was united in marriage to Leora Comnick at Grace Lutheran Church.  Clarence was a life-long farmer in Rosehill Township and a Pioneer Seed Representative for 24 years.  He was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as president of the church council as well as various other offices.  Clarence was also a County Commissioner and served on the Farmers Elevator Board.  He loved all animals, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and camping.  Clarence loved travelling, and visited all 50 states.  He also enjoyed touring the countryside, visiting the farm and taking the grandchildren to the camper on Maple Lake.

Clarence is survived by his wife Leora of 57 years; children: Linda (Mark) Warner of Walnut Grove, Wendy Hass (fiancé Bill Thorson) of South Dakota, Marilyn (Scott) Korsten of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mike (Jane) Hass of Westbrook; grandchildren: Mandy Warner, Meghann (Dustin) Westover, Gretchen Warner, and Andrea, Aaron, and Adam Hass; great grandson Avery Westover; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Arlene Anderson, Gerry Anderson, and Delores Cohrs; and a nephew Vern Anderson.
