Herbert WinnHerbert A. Winn Jr., age 89 of Seaforth, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls.  A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.  Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice House.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Herbert A. Winn Jr. was born February 19, 1929 to Herbert A. and Opal (Mosier) Winn Sr. in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  He attended country school and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1947.  Junior continued his education at the University of Minnesota St. Paul for agriculture and graduated from there with the class of 1949.  In 1951 he was drafted into the U.S. Army for two years in Korea on a supply ship.  After his service, he was honorably discharged in 1953.  On August 6, 1955, he married Dorothy Anne Heitland in Hennepin County.  Junior was a lifelong farmer in the Seaforth area.  He was a member of the Seaforth Elevator Board and American Legion. He was part of the Seaforth Volunteer Fire Department for 32 documented years but was involved in volunteer fire fighting before the department became an official organization. He enjoyed amateur blacksmith and making things around his shop.

Herbert is survived by his children: Dennis Winn, Pamela (Bob) Munsinger, Kenneth Winn and Douglas Winn; and grandchildren: Conner, Reece and Ryan Winn. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two children Robert & baby girl, and sisters Jane Ciucci & Catherine Nylund.

  2. So sad to hear of you Dad’s passing. Her was such a nice guy. I enjoyed visiting with him when Ken and I would come and visit. Losing a parent is never easy especially the last one. I am keeping you in my thoughts and Prayers.
