Eldyn Otto Jeseritz

Eldyn Otto Jeseritz age 94 of Wood Lake passed away on Saturday, August 06, 2011 at the Redwood Area Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. A private family interment will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at a later time. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be sent at www.redwoodvalleyfuneralhome.com. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home – Kulow Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Eldyn Otto Jeseritz was born March 21, 1917 in Wood Lake Township to Otto and Ida (Doose) Jeseritz. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He attended country school district 13 and parochial school. Following his schooling, Eldyn went to work for Bill and Caroline Jeseritz on the farm for many years. On September 29, 1940, Eldyn was united in marriage to Hazel Field in Granite Falls. Together they farmed the Ole Christensen farm for several years, and then the John Anderson farm near Hanley Falls. In 1964, they moved to his parents’ farm, which he farmed until 1978 when he retired and moved to the Wood Dale Apartments in Wood Lake. Eldyn loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed his flowers, gardening, and driving around looking at crops. He also enjoyed some sports and spending time drawing.

Eldyn is survived by his sister Gladys Wheaton of Robbinsdale; nieces: Dianne (Edward) Thorpe of Buffalo, MN, Linda (Dennis) Fedor of Woodbury, MN, Geraldine (John) Hall of San Antonio, TX, & Jean (Rick) LeBlanc of Anaheim, CA; nephew Trygve (Pam) Nevland of Ramsey; a special cousin Jerry Wolff of Wood Lake and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Hazel, brothers Albert and Llewellyn and special friend Mabel Sampson.
