Julie Ann Friedrich age 63 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Morgan, passed away while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her home following a long battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Julie Ann Friedrich was born November 15, 1949 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to Lawrence and Carol (Meierding) Friedrich. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan, Minnesota. She attended Morgan Public School, graduating in the class of 1967. On May 16, 1970, Julie married Dennis Bratsch at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan. They divorced in July of 2000. Following graduation from high school, Julie did daycare for the Carlyle Anderson family at Belview until 1968 when she was hired at Citizen’s Sate Bank in Redwood Falls, now known as Minnwest Bank. She retired from the bank January 31, 2010 due to her cancer. Julie worked part-time as a cashier at Super America in Redwood Falls from 1995 until 2005. She made many lifelong friends at both places of employment. Julie enjoyed gardening, caring for her house plants and flowers, and collecting birdhouses and patriotic decorations. She could often be found at Jackpot with her many friends dancing and visiting. Julie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She liked burning candles in the evenings, and enjoyed watching the clouds in the sky and looking at the full moon.
Julie is survived by her children: Jessica Bratsch of Redwood Falls, Michael (Amber) Bratsch of Redwood Falls, and Sara (Clint) Rudenick of Seaforth; and grandchildren: Cain Bratsch, Dugan & Rhylee Rudenick. She is also survived by her mother Carol Friedrich of Redwood Falls; sisters: Mavis (Lynn) Zimmer of Prinsburg, Ardis Stephens of Redwood Falls, Renee (Mike) Lueschow of Willmar, Sheri (Cyril) De Mars of Greer, South Carolina; many aunts; uncles; cousins and friends. Julie is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence, brother Larry, maternal and paternal grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
