Robert Knakmuhs

Robert “Bob” L. Knakmuhs age 85 of Revere passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7 at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. 

Visitation is 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.  Interment is in Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Robert Leonard Knakmuhs was born January 21, 1927 in Holly Township, Murray County, MN to Gideon and Erma (Jackson) Knakmuhs.  He attended country school and Walnut Grove High School.  On September 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to Verona Krengel at the Walnut Grove Methodist Church parsonage.  Bob was a farmer all his life and loved his green John Deere tractors!  He raised buffalo for many years.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Jackpot.  He loved spending time with his family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Bob is survived by his wife Verona; children: Marilyn Weedman of Sanborn, Darold Knakmuhs of Revere, and Loren “Bo” (Kathy) Knakmuhs of Walnut Grove; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; siblings: Evelyn Hanish of Jeffers, Iola (Myrl) Hansen of Slayton, and Carlos (Jean) Knakmuhs of Walnut Grove; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Harley, brother-in-law Bill Hanish, and son-in-law Dennis Weedman.
