Leona “Bunny” Mae Goblish, age 75, of Vesta, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation is 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial is in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Vesta. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Bunny was born March 23, 1939, in Kerkhoven, Minnesota to William and Myrtle (Wisch) Lang. She was baptized in Graceville and confirmed at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church. Bunny graduated from Murdock High School in 1957. On February 4, 1961, she was united in marriage to Joseph Goblish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willmar by Fr. Moran. Joe entered the service after their marriage and Bunny lived in Willmar. They then moved to the farm by Vesta where they farmed all their lives. Bunny was a member of Ladies Aid Circle, Nite Owls Club, Home Extension, Country Crafters, and the bowling league. She enjoyed snowmobiling with the Vesta Sno-Bobbers, quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Bunny loved making s’mores by the campfire, fishing, traveling, playing cards and games. She enjoyed working out in the fields and milking cows. She loved working the fields at night when it was peaceful and quiet in the fall of the year.
Bunny is survived by her husband Joseph; children: Jolene Goblish of Marshall, Cheryl (James) Elways of Lakewood, WA, Darcy (Brian) Janachovsky of Wood Lake, George (Jenifer) Goblish of Vesta, and Stacie (Cal) Stange of Tea, SD; grandchildren: Sara (Greg) Meyers, Barbara (Howard) Brown, Justin Elways (fiancée Jayci Ventura), Mary Elways, Dana (Kody) Jacobson, Carl Janachovsky, Jordan, Joshua, Jasmine, and Jayden Goblish, Christopher (Susan) Stange, Christina (Dale) Petrik, Jessica Stange (fiancé Adam Huber), Jamie Tooley, Kami Goblish, and Krystal Stange; great grandchildren: Hadlee, Luciella, Miley, Jackson, Elizabeth, Natalie, Braelyn, Avery, Taytem, Kaden, Lucas, and Jacob. She is also survived by a half-sister Jean Miller (special friend Don Schwarz) of Clarkfield, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Betty (Harvey) Valentine and Wilma Lien.
Joe and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Bunny will b truly missed. So glad I got to see you in the Marshall ER the other day.
