Alice E. (Filter) Reese Trebesch, age 92, of Lamberton, passed away August 1, 2023 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Olaf Lutheran Church are preferred. Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alice Eileen Trebesch was born October 13, 1930 in Winnetoon, Knox County, Nebraska to Ewald and Agnes (Suhr) Filter. She was baptized in Bazile Mills, NE and attended school in NE before moving to Florence, Minnesota with her folks at the age of 5. She completed her education in Tracy. Alice married Carlton Reese at the Walnut Grove parsonage on January 4, 1948. They lived on a farm by Walnut Grove and were blessed with one daughter, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She married Jerome Trebesch on December 4, 1993 and they lived on the farm north of Cobden until Jerome’s death. Alice taught Sunday School in Walnut Grove, and at Zion and St. Paul’s Lutheran Churches in Springfield, and sang in church choirs. She was secretary of the Ladies’ Aid. She enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, and stamping but her favorite pastime was baking. Alice loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her daughter Dianne (Arlie) Anderson of Lamberton; grandchildren: Ashton (Marcie) of St. Paul, Ryan (Melanie) of Tracy, Summer (Scott) Bielke of Rosemount, & Brita (Matt) Hanchek of Lakeville; great-grandchildren: Page (Matt Cates) & Logan Anderson, Owen & William Bielke, and Audrey & Evelyn Hanchek; sibling: Charles Filter; and many other friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Carlton on December 24, 1985; husband Jerome on April 13, 2004; siblings: Otto, Lawrence, Lois Ann & Marceline Filter, Alma Hoffman, Martha and Pauline Radke, Hazel Chastine, Delores Fredericks, and Irene Petersen.
