Alona’s burial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 8th at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Walnut Grove, Minnesota.

Born on September 8, 1975, in Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Krai, Russia, Alona’s journey through life was marked by grace, intellect, and a profound ability to touch the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

Alona embodied the fortitude of a warrior and the spirit of an artist. A vibrant and gifted creative, she brought color and warmth into every corner of her life. With a meticulous eye for beauty and a natural sense of discernment, she found inspiration in all things and offered thoughtful, honest guidance to those around her.

Above all, Alona’s heart belonged to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob Baxter, whose devotion was a cornerstone of her life, and her children—Rachel Baxter, Matthew Baxter, and Tiffany (Cory) DiCristina—who carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and compassion. She is also survived by her parents, Vladamir and Ludmila Gerasimova, and brother Demtry, whose influence shaped the foundation of the woman she became.

Alona fell in love with Walnut Grove, Minnesota during numerous visits to the farm of her parents-in-law, William and Joan Baxter.

To her friends, Alona was a steadfast and compassionate presence—a trusted confidant and joyful companion who deeply valued connection and community. She believed that life’s greatest beauty is found not only in what we create, but in the relationships we nurture.

Alona’s passing leaves a profound void, yet her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the art she painted. She lived fully, loved deeply, and brought light wherever she went. Her family and friends will forever cherish the lessons she imparted—the power of kindness, the beauty of creativity, and the enduring strength of hope.

May Alona rest in peace, forever surrounded by the beauty she so effortlessly created in this world.
