Beatrice “Bea” M. Christensen, age 96 of Redwood Falls, passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, 2022 at River Valley Health and Rehab in Redwood Falls.  Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.  

Beatrice Marian (Friedrich) Christensen was born January 25, 1926 to Paul and Mabel (Schliemann) Friedrich in Morgan, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Morgan.  Bea attended elementary country school at District 99 and graduated from Morgan Public School in 1943.  After high school, she began working at Engh’s Bakery in Redwood Falls.  Bea then worked at Gandrud’s Creamery as a cashier.  On August 5, 1946, she married the love of her life, Dwayne A. Christensen, at St. John Lutheran Church.  In April of 1948, Bea started working at J.C. Penny Store and left in May of 1955 to start her family.  Then she went back to work part-time at The Redwood Office Supply in July of 1972 and retired in March of 1986. Bea was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and served as president.  She was also a member of circle, Gloria Dei mission quilters, coordinator of meals-on-wheels, worked on the funeral committee and was superintendent of Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 and Zion check.  Bea enjoyed sewing, baking, quilting, gardening, and fishing.  She loved Pizza Ranch’s pepperoni pizza!  She loved spending time with her family and grand-pups, Shiloh & Echo. 

Beatrice is survived by her daughters: Colette Anderson of Longville and Nancy (Philip) Ludemann of Spring Park; granddaughters: Amber (Brendan) Miller and Christy (Luke) Hukee; great grandchildren: Hayden, Abby, Kensley & Easton Miller and Leighton, McCabe, Brooks, Wynnlee, Neve & Vail Hukee; brother-in-law Harold Cuff, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwayne, siblings: Lawrence (Carol) Friedrich, Jeanette (Eugene) Butcher and Leola (William) Haseleu, son-in-law David Anderson, and sisters-in-law Marian Cuff and Sylvia (Eugene) Dressen.
