Carole Elaine (Heath) Quade was born on December 27, 1941 in Mountain Lake, MN to Basil and Eleanor (Gordon) Heath.  She grew up in rural Cottonwood County.  Carole was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith in 1961. On April 8, 1961, she was united in marriage to Raymond Quade at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Westbrook.  Following their marriage, they made their home on the family farm near Jeffers where they raised their family. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffers until it closed in 1997.  When they moved to Westbrook, they became members of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Carole was a very active member of both churches and served as an officer in the Altar Society, taught CCD and was on the church council.  Carole worked as an insurance agent at Roger Haar State Farm Agency and First State Agency until retiring in 2000.  Carole and Raymond wintered in Mission, Texas for many years. Carole served on the Jeffers Cemetery Board and after moving to Westbrook she was a member of the Library Board, Heritage Health Care Foundation, and Kiwanis.  She volunteered as a 4-H leader and at school when her children were students.  She was part of the Good Neighbor Club, secretary at Wagon City South, and active in ladies’ activities at Rolling Hills Golf Club.  Carole enjoyed playing bridge, quilting and reading.  Golfing was one of her favorite pastimes, and she was proud of her two holes-in-one.  Carole especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in church, school, and sporting events.

Carole is survived by her sons: Clayton (Jodi) Quade of Bagley and Anthony (Kelly) Quade of Westbrook; daughters: Catherine (Douglas) Goaley of South St. Paul and RaeAnn (Anthony) Schmalzbauer of New Brighton; grandchildren Abbey (Trevor) Swanson, Hilary (Spenser) Narum, Hannah, Austin (Kassandra), Dr. Alexis, Ashton (fiancée Alyssa), Andrew Quade, Samuel, Paige, Tate Goaley, Triston and Tyra Schmalzbauer; four great grandchildren; siblings: Ronald (Esther) Heath of Rochester, Steven (Joyce) Heath of Apple Valley, Gerald Heath, and Sue (Neal) Mathis of Woonsocket, SD; sisters-in-law Elvera Cullen and Anna Heinz; brother-in-law Alfred Iverson; and cousin Cosette Fester.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; son LaMont Quade; granddaughter Alison Quade; sister Barbara Heath; sisters-in-law Lola Bigbee and LaVonne Iverson; and cousin Wilbert Fester.
