Connie Bloedow was born December 13, 1948 in Willmar, Minnesota to Woodrow and Helen (Ryan) Schemmel. She graduated from Danube High School before furthering her education at Willmar Junior College. Connie settled in Redwood Falls, where she began her career at the Redwood Hospital.  She proudly worked there for 51 and a half years, several of them as the business office manager.  She valued the lifelong friendships that were built there.  On September 11, 1971, Connie was united in marriage to Charlie Bloedow, and they were blessed with two children.  Connie was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she was active in many roles including Ruth Circle, Sunday School teacher, usher, and more.  She was blessed by the relationships formed with her church family.  Connie loved vacationing to Mexico with family in the winter, and spending summers at Green Lake in Spicer with family and friends.  She loved hosting holiday parties and get-togethers. Each gathering was carefully planned and well thought out, down to every small detail.  Connie’s family was her true passion. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She made sure each of her grandchildren knew just how special they are.  Connie’s caring nature will be remembered by anyone who knew her.

Connie is survived by her husband, Charlie; children: Jeremy (Heidi) Bloedow of Fargo, ND, and Alison (Jake) Strum of Forest Lake, MN; grandchildren: Baylor, Mya, and Aubrey Bloedow, and Maxwell and Eliza Strum; siblings: Joann Dolezal, Patrick (Glennys) Shemmel, Dory (Tony) Horejsi, Woodrow (Mary Ann) Schemmel, and Margaret Gort; siblings-in-law: Linda Schemmel, Bob Bloedow, Judy (Dan) Dunlevy, and Gayle McCorkell; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Helen Schemmel, parents-in-law Winfield and Rosemary Bloedow, brothers: Roger, James and Terrance Schemmel, and siblings-in-law: Buddy Dolezal, Lou Bloedow, and Jack McCorkell.
