Dale Walter Schliewe, age 74 of Redwood Falls, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at Parkview Home in Belview. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta. Livestream of the service will be available on the church’s Facebook page. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dale Walter Schliewe, child of God, was born July 1, 1951 in Beaver Dam, WI to Walter “Butch” and Mona (Koch) Schliewe. He attended St. Stephen’s Christian Day School in Beaver Dam, WI, Northwestern Prep and Northwestern College in Watertown, WI, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. After Seminary graduation in 1977, the Lord placed him at a mission congregation at Emmanual Lutheran Church, Hudson, WI, where he started dating the organist, Cindy Pankow, and they were married on June 30, 1979. Dale was a pastor for Christ’s flock here on earth for over 40 years. The Lord called him to serve Mt. Olive, Graceville and Bethany, Clinton, MN in June of 1981. In June 1998 the Lord called him to serve St. John’s Lutheran Church, Vesta, MN and later Peace Lutheran Church at Echo until his retirement in 2016. Dale and Cindy moved to Redwood Falls where Dale worked at Walmart and for Redwood Area Schools while serving a vacancy at Zion Lutheran Church in Morton, MN until dementia caused him to fully retire in 2021. Dale was a kind, humble, and loving servant of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He always thought of others first. Dale enjoyed collecting cans for recycling, gardening, being a Packers fan, participating in sports, and playing the game that is played in Heaven – “Sheepshead”. Dale’s family would like to recognize Dale’s PCA, Cindy Stage, for taking care of him so he could stay in his home longer; Anne and Serenity Suites staff of Wabasso for their tender loving care from May 23, 2023 until April 8, 2024; and Parkview Home of Belview for welcoming him into their hearts on April 25, 2024 until his passing into Eternal Life. The staff and residents gave love and care to their “Pastor Dale.” To God Be The Glory!

Dale is survived by his wife, Cindy; children: Matthew (Shawn), Mark (Shelly), Miriam, and Michael Schliewe; grandchildren: Alexander, Addison, Mollie, Greta, and Isabel; sister Darlene (Schliewe) Leisten and nephew Kristopher (Natalie) & their daughter Isabel Leisten; aunt Eunice; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter “Butch” and Mona (Koch) Schliewe, brother-in-law Brad Leisten, and niece Elizabeth Anne.
