Daniel R. Braken, age 70 of Redwood Falls, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Parkview Senior Living in Belview after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at a later date. 

Daniel Richard Braken was born September 9, 1952 to Daniel L. and Marjorie (Bauman) Braken in Pipestone, Minnesota. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1970. Dan worked at several radio stations including KLGR in Redwood Falls, where he covered many sports announcing the play by play. He also worked at Dari King, which he owned and operated with his parents and brother. Dan retired from the business in 2017. He enjoyed all sports, but he especially loved baseball.

Daniel is survived by his mother Marge Braken of Redwood Falls; sister Cynthia (John) Vanderwerf of Fridley; four children; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Daniel L. Braken and brother Spencer Braken.
