David Adam VanDeWiele, age 82 of Tracy, passed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from Lewy body disease in the comfort of his own home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation will be held 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tracy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to https://www.lbda.org/donate/ for improving the lives of those living with Lewy body dementia. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
David Adam VanDeWiele was born May 29, 1943 in Tracy, MN to Oscar and Rita (Thielges) VanDeWiele. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. In 1961, David graduated from Walnut Grove High School. He married Doreen Marie Louwagie on August 12, 1964. David grew up in Walnut Grove and spent the remainder of his years in the Tracy community. He faithfully served the Catholic Church through various boards and activities. Dave and Doreen enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona. He had a passion for golf and interacting with friends. One of his great joys was coaching young children and watching them grow.
David is survived by his wife Doreen; children: Dale (Monica) and Dean (Kelly) VanDeWiele; grandchildren: Cassandra and Michael; siblings: Leon, Robert, John, Harold, Jane, Audrey and Mark; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel and brother Denis.
