Brenda and family, I was so sorry to hear Denis had passed. But so thankful he is no longer suffering. I remember the day like yesterday Jody came and told me Denis has cancer. He was very courageous and you were faithfully by his side loving him like no other.........You had 14 years that many people never get.............I have prayed for you over the years and will continue to pray for you now as you have wonderful-loving memories of your Denis. I wish I could come on Saturday but am unable to but you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you Brenda and Jody--Kim

I didn't know Denis but I know David (and Eunice) and wanted to express my sympathy not only to them, but to the rest of the family. "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand." John 10:27–29

Denise was a inspiration to me when I was going though some health issues. He handled his challenges with dignity and courage. He also said he could have never done without the support of his family. I am sorry that we will not be able to attend the service as we are out of the county. Best wishes, Paul and Pam Gervais

Dear Brenda, and all of Denis's family.... Denis was a amazing person in so many ways. Very few people have had to fight and endure cancer for 14 years. Life is not fair! Denis was a intelligent, kind, strong, loving person, and he certainly did NOT deserve the suffering he had to endure. My mother, Gladys Keller, taught the children in the Engen family, and I am quite sure that included Denis. This was at the country school, that I think was called the Willow Lake School. (It was located near Willow Lake Lutheran Church.) She loved and respected the Engen family, and spoke very highly of them. Please know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Losing one so well-loved is difficult beyond words. With my love, Eunie (Keller) Christensen
